Fundraisers

Fundraising

Fundraising is one of those things no one likes or wants to do.  Unfortunately in today's economy we are left to do even more to make up for the cuts to sports funding.  As the parents of high school soccer players we are responsible for raising money to pay for equipment, uniforms, additional coaching expenses, events and many other things.  In order to pay for these expenses we need to fundraise.  We do this by collecting a booster club fee ($100) and having fundraisers.  Our fundraising efforts are set up to allow parents to do the fundraiser and get their booster club fee back.  Without funding, running a program the size and quality of Champlin Park High School Boys Soccer would not be possible.

The benefits of fundraising go well beyond the practical items mentioned above.  Fundraising also helps build team unity and helps players recognize each other’s talents on and off the field.  While one player may be struggling to bend the ball, he may excel at speaking to members of the community.  Players recognize this and learn from one another.  Fundraisers help players recognize the strengths and weaknesses in their teammate.  Fundraisers also help parents and community members participate and connect with the team.  When players are visible within the community helping others and being courteous, they are portraying a positive image of themselves to the members of the community and business leaders.

We will be doing 3 fundraisers this year...

Coupon Book Sales

Our major fundraising effort which we are counting on to make the most of the money we need is selling "Enjoy the City" coupon books.

Players on Varsity and JV teams will need to sell 30 books to get their $100 booster club fee back.  The additional books need to be sold by these players to pay the cost of the Madison trip.  They will be asked to sell a minimum of 20 books to cover the trip cost.

Players on JVB and Freshmen teams will need to sell 15 books to get their $100 booster club fee back.

We strongly encourage families to sell as many books as they can!!

Donation Letter

Our second fundraiser is a donation letter to be mailed out to family, friends or businesses.  Families will be asked to send 5-10 letters.  This is a good option for out of town family.  You will be provided with the letters and envelopes.  All you have to do is address the letters and put a stamp on and mail it.  Make sure your son's name is on the letters.

If we receive $200 back from your mailings you will get your $100 booster club fee returned.

Beer and Wine Tasting

Our third fundraiser is the Beer and Wine Tasting.  It is a fun night out with other soccer parents.  You will be paying for 4 tickets that you may use personally or sell to someone to get your money back.

We understand this seems like a lot, but it is what we need to do to keep a strong soccer program and cover our expenses.  We are hoping the book sales will do well and fees can be reduced next year.  It is all up to you!  This goal can only be accomplished if everyone does their part.
